This park is one of Uganda’s largest conservation areas and boasts of 76 mammal species and 451 bird species that thrive in the open Savannah and tropical forests. After breakfast, start the drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. The park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700 km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species.
