Kilimanjaro Trekkings – Machame Route

If you are looking for a life breathtaking experience on the highest free-standing mountain on earth, I am also looking for you, dear visitor!

For more than 10 years I have planed and organized trekking in the Kilimanjaro National Park. I can guide you through all the recommended routes:

* Lemosho. It is the newest and longest trekking. It is 7 days long, usually. According to your time, physical preparation or altitude resistance, I can tailor for you 6 or 8 days.

* Machame. This is the second most popular route up: steep paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau. It is 6 days normally, but one day could be added to the itinerary.

* Marangu. This is the most popular  and better-established route. Basic services are available up to the summit. The accommodation is in simple but cozy huts. You will trek for 5 days.

Hiking Kilimanjaro, 5896m, will take you to a constantly changing landscape. We will start with bananas and coffee tree plantations, we will walk through tropical forests and then eventually moorland and alpine meadows. For you it will be a unique and challenging journey. For me I called it “home”.

DAY 1: Arrival in Moshi. Transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA-JRO) or from Bus Station to Hotel
or similar for overnight.

DAY 2: Machame Gate (1,800 m/5,900 ft) to Machame Camp (2,835 m/9,300 ft).

DAY 3: Machame Camp (2,835 m/9,300 ft). to Shira Camp (3750 m/12300 ft)

DAY 4: Shira Camp (3750 m/12300 ft) to Barranco Camp (3,900 m/12,800 ft)

DAY 5: Baranco/Karanga Valley Camp (3,900 m/12,800 ft) to Barafu Camp (4,673 m/15,330 ft)

DAY 6: Barafu Camp (4,673 m/15,330 ft) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m/19,340 ft) and Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m/10,170 ft)

DAY 7: Final descent from Mweka Camp (3,100 m/10,170 ft) to Mweka Gate

DAY 8: Transfer to the airport or bus station for your departure.
