If you only have one day to visit this lovely city, the following full guide will help you to make the best of your trip. Be prepared to immerse yourself in the deep history, the landmarks and the location sweetheart that Amsterdam has to give.

Morning

Begin your morning at the famous Van Gogh Museum, This world-famous museum has the greatest collection of Vincent van Gogh’s works. Discover the large collection of paintings, drawings and letters that give a glimpse into the life and work of this famous artist. Do not forget to make an on-line booking for your tickets before arriving in order to prevent long waiting lines.

Following the museum, spend a leisurely walk in famous Vondelpark. One of the city’s greatest parks is a wonderful place to unwind and take in Amsterdam’s natural splendor. Grab a coffee or a snack from any of the park’s café and a place to sit and watch the people. When you go during the spring, you will enjoy blooming flowers throughout the park.

Afternoon

Later the morning will be free to explore Amsterdam’s rich history. Visit the Anne Frank House to understand the life of Anne Frank and the effect of her diary during World War II. This insightful museum gives a glimpse into the secret annex where Anne Frank & her family lived in hiding from the Nazis.

A short walk from the Anne Frank House, you will encounter the Westerkerk, one of the most famous landmarks of Amsterdam. Scale one of the church’s tower rooftops for breathtaking views over the city.

Evening

In the evening discover Amsterdam, famous canal belt, a UNESCO World Heritage. Step on a peaceful boat tour and enjoy a new point of view of the city. As you float down the canals you will be able to see the city’s historic architecture, quaint bridges & picturesque houseboats.

After the boat, have a dinner in Jordaan again. It is popular on this area for it is restos that have a very lively dining area with varied choices that also suit all the kinds of tastes. From typical Dutch kitchen to international flavors, you will find something that will satisfy your taste buds.

Night

You can then go on a very relaxed stroll through the infamous Red Light District. This infamous area is not only infamous for sex work and adult entertainment, but also behold the rich history and one of a kind ambience. Walk along the cobblestone streets, pop into the local pubs and take in the electric atmosphere that makes Macau so iconic.

If you are curious to taste all of the happenings of Amsterdam nightlife then look into one of the city’s many live music venues or hot bars. From jazz clubs to by electronic music clubs, there is something for every taste of music.

With only one day in Amsterdam, it’s true that you barely tap into what this city can give. If the need to visit more arises, look into adding on to your stay or scheduling a revisit to discover even more.
