There are several areas in the Seaport city of Hamburg that are quite unsafe and risky for tourists; these are the districts and areas. 1. St. Georg

St. Georg is an area found in central Hamburg and it is also a redlight area, particularly during the night hours. Despite such attempts, the level of security has remained low even in the recent past and thus it would be wise not to approach the area.

2. Reeperbahn at Night

Reeperbahn is the pedestrian area located at the St.Pauli neighborhood where the beer taverns and clubs are located. It will also enable parents to watch it as it is interesting during the day but one needs to careful with at night. It can be noisy, especially during the weekends; there are typical fight incidents, fueled by alcohol at times. It is advisable to visit this place during the day so that you can have fun in the lively environment without experiencing what transpires in the evening.

3. Hauptbahnhof Area

The Hauptbahnhof area or the main train station indeed is one of the major communication points in the city of Hamburg. Though the overall environment is secure during the day, it may become rather dangerous at night. Do not loiter around the station at night, and be sensitive to pickpockets when in congested places. If needed for their movement on a day when it is dark especially when going to or from the station they should consider using a taxi or other means of transport instead of walking alone.

4. Wilhelmsburg after Dark

It is one of the rising New Towns that can be found at the south of the city. Though the island has been recently being developed and now is rather popular among residents, there are still some quarters in Wilhelmsburg that have the higher crime rate. It is advised to refrain from taking a walk alone in this area more so in the nights. It is recommended that one arranges a guided tour if you want to visit Wilhelmsburg especially in the daytime.

5. Billstedt Center

Billstedt Center is situated in the east of Hamburg specialized in selling various goods including food items. Although the particular mall isn’t dangerous in some way, the area in which it operates is notorious for high and frequent criminal activities. It is dangerous for one to visit this area more so in the evening times. Be wary on poorly lit places, do not too often walk alone, and you have to safeguard valuable items.

It is generally safe to traverse and reside in Hamburg but they are some areas within the city that should be vigilantly avoided like in any other city. One can avoid areas where children roam and should try to exercise a lot of caution due to the increased rate of child kidnappers in the country.
