Discover the Hidden Gems: Free Things to Do in Portsmouth

Hi Portsmouth, Portsmouth a véritable ville en plein sud de l’Angleterre. If your looking for something free to do in the area, or maybe your a tourist looking for that last bit of money’s worth & wanting to rob the bank, your in right place. Portsmouth is great for nothing-to-see-do whether it is history, natural beauty or visit the cultural free to see and do. In this post we will explore some of Portsmouth’s free things to do.

1. Explore Southsea Common

Southsea Common is a very big, and very green bit of open ground, which goes right down by the water front. Just a change of pace for a walk and a bug, or frisbee. The appionting has lovely white views of Solent & The Axle of Winning. Plus there is always free live music going on around and here and the events all year around.

2. Wander around Old Portsmouth

Go back in time and stroll along the cobbled streets of Old Portsmouth. Walk the cobblestone streets and look over the unremmodelled houses. Explode into the Square Tower and discover maritime action on the Spice Island.

3. Visit the Historic Dockyard

Most visits to the Historic Dockyard are paid for by an entrance fee but some exhibits within the site are free to visit. Walk seaside to see massive HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. Learn about the history of the navy through the educentric boards and green spaces dotted throughout the site.

4. Dive into Art & Culture

While Portsmouth might seem light on art galleries and museums, though all are free of charge to visit. The City Museum and Art Gallery has on display a wide range of artwork and artefacts telling the story of the city’s history and multifaceted population. Aspex Gallery shows contemporary contemporary art by artists nationally and internationally.

5. Explore the Seafront

Enjoy a lovely walk along the lively seafront promenade with great sea views and cool sea air. Take an ice cream from one of many parlours and if it’s your day you might catch a show from the Southsea Bandstand.

6. Discover the Historic Forts

Forts into Portmouth Harbor are old. Some of fort may be open to preview for small fee, but even in that case, you get to see grand architecture from a long distance. Spitbank Fort, Horse Sand Fort and No Man’s Land Fort is a testament that a slice.

7. Enjoy the Coastline Walks

10. Enjoy the Beaches

Portsmouth is lovely for its baronial beaches that are building for its day by the sea. Mandie Southsea Beaches is also famous for its golden sand and is blessing with nice outlook, Beach your beach belongings and have a sun without pricing a cent.
