What To Expect
Santiago de Compostela was named a UNESCO world heritage site because it has become a symbol of freedom for many Spanish Christians. This little city is a landmark and a pillar in Spain, it holds the alleged burial place of St. James one of Jesus’ original disciples.
On this tour, we will visit the renowned Catedral Santiago de Compostela, the Plaza do Obradoiro, right at the heart of the city. Thousands of pilgrims arrive at the Plaza do Obradoiro every day to start their Way of St.James hike. Next, we’ll move on to the Catholic Kings Hostal, where the two coats of arms of Castilla will greet us at its doors.
Our next stop will be the Rajoy palace and ancient building made for the kings of back in the day, one of its remarkable features is the sculpture of St. James riding his horse and fighting the Arabs. Other stops and sites we will see will be the San Jeronimo College, the Palacio de Xelmirez, Praza da Quintana, the Cassa da Parra and the Praza de Abastos.
