Pamukkale means Cotton Castle in Turkish and it gets its name from lovely travertines that flow down the hillside from hot spring sources,leaving behind a soft white snow of calcium carbonate and bisodium carbonate.Hieropolis (which is the same place) has a history which dates back to 10 thousand years before.As it was believed that the thermal water that flows here cure the diseases it had been an importand city of health,religious and art for centuries.It is known that Hieropolis was built in 190 BC.by Bergamon King Eumenes II ,and named after his wife Hiera.I’m not writing the following information.
