What to See in Prague in 3 Days
Bienvenidos a Praga, capital de la República Checa! Famous for its magnificent architecture, enriched history and colorful culture, Prague is a must see place for the tourists. If you are only short in time and you are planning a trip, here is a guide on what to do in Prague in 3 days.
Day 1: Exploring the Historic Center
Begin the day exploring the UNESCO-listed old town area of Prague, also referred to as the historic quarter. Here are the must-see:
1. Prague Castle
Proceed to Prague Castle, one of the biggest castles. Visit the breathtaking beauty of St. Vitus Cathedral, wander down the charming pave of Golden Lane, and don’t miss out on experiencing the stunning view of the city over the castle’s grounds.
2. Charles Bridge
Make your way to characteristic Charles Bridge, a pedestrian bridge from the 14th century. Watch the baroque statues that stand along the bridge, enjoy the street performers and take in the view of Prague’s skyline.
3. Old Town Square
Keep your way to the Old Town Square, the place of interest of Prague. Look at the awesome Astronomical Clock on the old town hall, go to the Church of Our Lady before Týn and take a cup of coffee on one of the beautiful cafes in the square.
Day 2: Discovering Prague’s Hidden Gems
Next day, step off the beaten way to see a few hidden in Prague:
1. Vyšehrad
See Vyšehrad, an old fortress such as on a slope opposite the river Vltava…. Visit the Vyšehrad Cemetery, where many Czechs’ are laid to rest and enjoy piecefully stroll in it lovely gardens.
2. Letná Park
Visit Letná Park, a spacious park with excellent views of Prague. Take a relaxing walk, enjoy a refreshing drink at the beer garden and enjoy the far-reaching panorama of the town.
3. Lennon Wall
Take a break and visit the famous John Lennon Peace Wall a colorful mural to John Lennon and the Beatles. Check out the artwork, leave your own words and enjoy the colourful atmosphere.
Day 3: Immersing in Czech Culture
End your two days in Prague embracing Czech culture and history:
1. National Museum
Go to the National Museum, an icon of the Czech culture. Explore the numerious galleries on display, dedicated to portraying the country’s art, history and natural sciences.
2. Dancing House
Admire the unique architecture of the Dancing House, a modern building that juxhpapses with the historical edifices of Prague. Go to the roof restaurant to have a view on the city.
3. Wenceslas Square
Finish your trip at Wenceslas Square, a lively shopping street lined with restaurants, historic landmarks and food markets. Make some last minute souvenir shopping and mix with Prague’s vibrant atmosphere.
Keep in mind, however, this is only a small taste of all that Prague has to serve. The city is bursting with museums, galleries, parks and nice locales to be discovered. Do not miss the traditional Czech food and drinks such as goulash and trdelník and should not forget to go just romantic cruise along Vltava river.
