What to See in Spain in 10 Days

Welcome to sunny Spain! So if you are thinking of planning a trip and have ten days as many of us wish we had, then you’re in for some perks. Spain is one of the most exotic and colourful countries with a fascinating history and architectural solutions, mouth-watering gastronomy, and picturesque scenery. There is so much to capture in a week; below is a sampling that will assist you plan on your ten-day tour of Spain.

Day 1: Barcelona

First destination is Barcelona, a versatile international capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia. Take avisit to the architectural marvel of the Sagrada Familia designed by brilliant architect Antoni Gaudí. Visit Las Ramblas, an observable commercial activity full of various shops or cafes and even various performances by artists. Park Güell gives you vast views of the city so be sure to check it out.

Day 2-3: Madrid

Visit Madrid commonly referred to as Spain’s exciting capital city. Taste tapas in one of several tapas bars, take a tour of the Royal Palace or stroll through the famous art museums, the Prado Museum and Reina Sofia Museum. Try to visit Retiro Park, an area that is very quiet in the centre of Buenos Aires.

Day 4-5: Seville

Next move to seville which is world famous for its flamenco dances, beautiful buildings, and active culture. Have a closer look at the Alcázar of Seville, the example of a Renaissance palace and a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a walk to the Seville Cathedral , which is the largest Gothic structure in the world and , if you are not very religious, climb the Giralda Tower at the top of which has a commanding view of the city.

Day 6-7: Granada

Proceed to Granada, the city of Tapas and the famous Alhambra – a palace and fortress complex of the Moor influence. Take a stroll at the Generalife gardens and visit the complete Islamic architectures and elements. It is also advisable to secure your tickets for the Alhambra as they are usually out early.

Day 8-9: Valencia

Going south east to Valencia, it’s a fairly contemporary town famous for its modern architecture and their delicious paella. They should check out the City of Arts and Sciences: a beautiful building with a planetarium, a science museum, and an opera. Take a nice walk at the old city and one of the most beautiful places in Valencia is the beach.

Day 10: Toledo

Your tour ends with Toledo a world heritage city as recommended by UNESCO. Stroll through the narrow Gothic alleys, see the imposing Toledo Cathedral, and enjoy the artwork of the museum that was once a home to El Greco. Do not leave Toledo without tasting one of its special sweets: marzipan.

Just to recap, the above is simply a suggested itinerary and that there are plenty of other amazing places to visit in Spain. They also suggest that you should either prolong your vacation or build it based on your interests. Literally, whoever is a history lover, art lover, architecture enthusiast, or fond of good cuisine, has something to enjoy in Spain.
