Generally, Barcelona is not considered a very dangerous city or any other part of Spain, however, something always happens to happen, so precautions should be taken before travelling:

  • Be wary of your belongings particularly if you are in a crowded place and or in any mode of transport.
  • Do not show off any property that is expensive and avoid being too conscious with your pockets as there are many tricks by pickpockets.
  • It is safer to walk in well-illuminated and populated areas at night especially during the dark.
  • It is advisable to be insured for travel at all times to cater for any emergencies or unfavorable situations.

5. Best Time to Visit

The ideal period to visit the location is in spring and autumn but any time in between that period is also advisable as it’s neither uncomfortably hot nor crowded. Some of them are closed during July and August as it is rather hot or as the majority of the locals take their vacations.

If one is a fan of festival and fun, it is advised to plan his/her visit during the specifically stated festivals like the La Mercè in September or the Sant Jordi in April.
