Where to Stay in Stockholm on Vacation
Have you decided to spend your vacation in Stockholm but don’t know the best place to stay?
Booking your accommodation in advance is always best when going on vacation trips. However, before you book your accommodation, it’s best first to decide on the neighbourhood you’ll be staying in. It’s obvious, but most people miss this important aspect. Some of the places to stay in Stockholm on vacation are:
Gamla Stan (Old Town)
Located on the island of Stadshomen, Stockholm’s old town is the heart of the city. Because of its central location and many tourist attractions like the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral, and the Nobel Museum, it is the most expensive area to stay in.
Another advantage of staying here is that you can easily access other parts of the city by ferry or by metro. So, if you want to splurge on your trip, you’ll find lots of hotels and accommodation options in Gamla Stan
Östermalm
North-east of Gamla Stan, Östermaln is an upscale and exclusive neighbourhood with many parks and museums for entertainment. You’d also find lots of Stockholm’s galleries, theatres, and nightclubs here. It’s a great place for those who are on a business trip.
Djurgårde
Djurgårde seems like the best option to go for if you’re travelling with family. It’s a quieter area with the Children’s Museum, the Grona Lund amusement park, and other fun museums. Most families choose this neighbourhood because of the open spaces to play, walk, and play games. There are good road and tram connections, but no metro stations nearby.
Other neighbourhoods include Södermalm, which is ideal if you’re on a budget, Norrmalm, which is a great place to stay in the winter and Kungsholmen, which is an ideal area just outside Stockholm.
